Sue Taylor has been a filmmaker for nearly 25 years. After completing an honours degree in Anthropology at London University, she spent ten years working in the corporate sector of the industry, before pursuing an interest in documentary filmmaking. She produced and/or directed several documentaries for the ABC, SBS and Film Australia, including Diamond Are A Girl’s Best Friend, Vegie Wars and Fungimentary.
In 1998 she moved into drama production, producing children’s drama for the ABC (Minty), Network 10 (WildKat) and the Nine Network (Southern Cross) and, more recently, the acclaimed adult mini series, ‘The Shark Net’. Sue formed Long Way Films with Jeremy Sims in 2004, specifically to produce feature films in Western Australia. Currently she is in pre-production on Marx and Venus, a drama series for SBS. She is also in development on Chatroom, another feature film adapted by Reg Cribb from his play and to be co-written and directed by Samantha Lang.
Sue was an inaugural Board Member of ScreenWest, is currently Chapter Head of SPAA in Western Australia, and is on the Board of Screenrights.
